Roulette

Picture Bets:

It is essential for any trainee roulette dealer to understand and learn picture bets. The chips placed on a winning number form patterns which can be equated to a total amount. To understand this better, either click on the free 'Picture Bet Tutorial' below or watch 'Essential Roulette - A guide for players and dealers', available for purchase on this website via DVD and streaming video.

Once you have a good understanding of picture bets, try testing yourself with one of the three levels of self test below

Pushing Stacks:

All dealers should master the art of pushing between one and ten stacks of chips with one hand. However, it can be difficult to form the correct finger positions. To understand this better, either click on the free 'Pushing Stacks Tutorial' below or watch 'Essential Roulette - A guide for players and dealers', available for purchase on this website via DVD and streaming video.

Multiplication Tables:

As the different bets on the table pay odds of 35/1, 17/1, 11/1, 8/1, 5/1 (and 6/1 on double zero tables), it is necessary to learn multiplication tables for these amounts. You may already know your 11, 8, 6 and 5 times tables but it's unlikely you'll know your 35 and 17 times tables. To view these tables, either click on the free 'Roulette Math Tutorial' below or watch 'Essential Roulette - A guide for players and dealers', available for purchase on this website via DVD and streaming video.

Once you have a good understanding of these mulitiplications, try testing yourself with one of the three levels of self test below.

Blackjack

Blackjack Payouts:

For the most part, a blackjack dealer will only pay even money for a winning bet. However, when the players winning hand contains an ace and a ten value card, the dealer must pay odds of 3/2. Memorizing popular payout amounts is an important way to improve speed and accuracy. To understand this better, either click on the free 'Blackjack Payouts Tutorial' below or watch 'Essential Blackjack - A guide for players and dealers', available for purchase on this website via DVD and streaming video.

Once you have a good understanding of these payouts, try testing yourself with one of the three levels of self test below.

Card Counting:

Card counting is a difficult skill to master. As a player, the rewards for putting in many hours of practice are obvious. As a dealer, or someone who's in a more supervisory position, it can still be beneficial to understand how card counting works. To gain more knowledge of this subject, either click on the free 'Card Counting Tutorial' below or watch 'Essential Blackjack - A guide for players and dealers', available for purchase on this website via DVD and streaming video.

Once you have a good understanding of these payouts, try testing yourself with one of the three levels of self test below.

Craps (US version)

Proposition Bets:

Proposition bets or 'prop bets' are an important section to understand and learn during your craps education. There are many different bets a player can place and varying amounts of money can be wagered. To help speed up the math, a set of keys have been devised. To learn them, either click on the free 'Proposition Bets Tutorial' below or watch 'Essential Craps - A guide for players and dealers', available for purchase on this website via DVD and streaming video.

Once you have a good understanding of these payouts, try testing yourself with one of the three levels of self test below.
